vulunteering

There is plenty scope for volunteers to get involved in Highland Perthshire Cycling whether as guides, parent volunteers, or helping out at the Festival and other events.

Outdoor Festival for All - Sat 11th October, Blair Castle

This outdoor festival is a fun day out with a range of activities for those who don't normally get out into the countryside for some fun and an opportunity to meet people, this may be for a variety of reasons such as disability, language barriers, older people for which social exclusion is evident, remote communities, ethnic minorities, etc.

HPC will be attending this event helping with guided rides, learn to ride sessions for novice/returning cyclists and adapted bikes for those with disabilities.

If you can lend a hand at this rewarding event, please get in touch.  Send Kat an This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Community Cycling Champions

Our new Community Cycling Champions programme looks to further expand and boost our network of volunteers around Highland Perthshire.  We know that so many people from all backgrounds and age ranges get a lot from cycling; whether saving money by cycling to the shop or work, building confidence by going on rides, meeting new friends and feeling socially included or having a HUGE smile from taking part in a children's race.

By leading the way as a Community Cycling Champion you will receive training, help and support to plans activities of your choice to best suit your community, a small fund (until March 2015) to enable you to host bike breakfasts, run children's races, etc and ongoing support when you need a bit of advice or a helping hand at an event.

Whether you tie into your local school, community centre, sports club or social group or all of the above, it doesn't matter, the aim is to inspire more people to begin cycling on a more regular basis and to encourage more everyday journeys by bike whether to the the shops, work or the school run.  To achieve this we are looking for one or more volunteer in each community in Highland Perthshire, so if you like riding your bike and can spare a few hours a week or month then please get in touch and we can start the ball rolling.
